Typical muslim weddings are incomplete without the Muslim wedding Shukrana Sweets. A thanks giving function (shukrana) which is organised by the girls family where puris are sent to the grooms place. In this muslim wedding function there is a small fun game between the groom and the sisters of the bride basically to lighten up the atmosphere and to get familiarised with each other.
The groom is asked to break the “bache waali puri’ basically a puri especially made with a pocket in it which has a coin and the groom needs to break the puri and take out the coins while the saali’s (brides sisters) jokingly hit the grooms hands with light sticks.
The groom is the winner in this shukrana function if he succeeds to take out the coin fast with out being hit too much.We at Meethas make this special “bachey waali puri” with a pocket and a coin of your choice is put into it be it a silver coin or a five rupee coin.

These shukrana puris are made of finely ground coconut and blanched almonds cooked with sugar, ghee, saffron and chana daal to the right consistency neither too runny nor too hard makes the halwa.
